Under the basic guidance of the Pharmacist in Charge and a signed up Pharmacist, carries out a range of responsibilities necessary to the buying, preparation, circulation and charging of medications. Cancer Center Technician helps PIC in keeping expense efficient usage of resources and matching of worked and resources to offer and advance drug store services. Need to be able to carry out functions needed in the drug store and sterilized intensifying locations of the cancer. Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort
Schedule consists of everyday shifts Monday through Friday throughout center operating hours. Need to listen to information. Tension from due dates stringent guidelines, and multi-tasking. Extended standing or walking. Routine lifting of supplies/equipment as much as 25 pounds. Includes usage of syringe/needle controls for preparation of dangerous and intravenous treatments. Includes the handling, preparation, and disposal of harmful medications that might posture reproductive dangers to those of kid bearing age. Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents
Education: High School graduate or equivalent are needed. Should preserve needed 20 bi-annual hours of CEUs for ongoing PTCB accreditation. Need to have chemotherapy preparation accreditation upon hire or within very first 30 days of hire. Conclusion of Pharmacy Tech training or Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate Health Science Program is chosen.
Experience: One (1) year health center drug store professional experience or a comparable mix of education and experience from which similar understanding and capabilities can be gotten.
