Under the management of the Director, Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Technician– Certified is an active member of the department that helps the Pharmacy personnel in the preparation and circulation of pharmaceutical items. The Pharmacy Technician– Certified assists with prescriptions, shipment of medications, responding to the phone, equipping racks. The Tech preserves stock of drug store materials and sends reorders as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education:

Requires a high school diploma or a GED state accreditation.

  • Experience:

Requires as much as one year of job-related experience or any comparable mix of education, training and experience.

  • Licensure, Registrations & Certifications:

Requires and keeps a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPT) registration.

Needs and keeps a legitimate motorist’s license and evidence of insurance coverage.

Motor lorry report needed upon hire and evaluated each year.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists the pharmacist in offering medication, drug info and pharmaceutical services to clients, nurses, doctors and other healthcare facility workers.
  • Assists in submitting prescriptions utilizing system dosage medications and standard compounding.
  • Prepares intravenous services and admixtures utilizing aseptic strategy.
  • Performs dose estimations filling different prescriptions consisting of IV prescription antibiotics and fluids for clients varying in age from newborn to geriatric.
  • Processes records of medications and products gave to clients or consumers. Calculates charges and either enters them into the computer system or forwards them to business workplace.
  • Maintains information, produces reports and offers the put together details to other departments.
  • Receives and puts materials on racks, tagging and pricing each product according to instructions and procedures all associated paper work.
  • Manages and turns stock within the drug store and on nursing systems.
  • Processes client charges for pharmaceuticals utilizing the Pharmacy charging system.
  • Reconciles medication shops consisting of illegal drugs.
  • Receives, stocks and shops patient house medications.
  • Maintains the Pharmacy in a tidy and organized way.
  • Transports drugs and medications to the Nursing Home or other off website areas, gets or returns drugs or medications from provider areas as required.
  • Functions as part of an interdisciplinary group promoting favorable social interaction abilities when interacting with clients, households, visitors, doctors and personnel in other departments of the company.
  • Complies with CRHS and department security, infection control and efficiency enhancement efforts and sterilized treatments, making sure the shipment of services and products.
  • Presents an expert image to CRHS nursing, and medical team member.
  • Performs other associated task tasks as appointed.

Standards of Performance:

  • Provides medication, drug details and pharmaceutical services to clients, nurses, doctors and other health center workers.
  • Prepares pharmaceuticals for clients that are age proper with constant dose variations for newborn, pediatric, teen, adult and geriatric clients and understands to seek advice from pharmacists when concerns occur.
  • Prepares intravenous services and admixtures utilizing aseptic strategies.
  • Maintains stock of materials and reorders them appropriately.
  • Assists in submitting prescriptions utilizing system dosage medications and prepares substance pharmaceutical does as shown by the prescriptions.
  • Complies with all requirements of care, security and infection control policies and treatments.
  • Demonstrates dependability as determined by compliance with the CRHS Time and Attendance policy.
  • Demonstrates expert conduct and adherence to all security, privacy and HIPAA requirements.
  • Promotes team effort with the whole personnel in addition to other contacts within the medical facility, as determined by observations of Manager and colleagues.
  • Attends expert advancement programs and in-service training and fulfills the minimum requirement for continuing expert education.
  • Adheres to the CRHS Standards of Behavior as determined by observations of personnel along with outdoors and other inside consumers.
