SUMMARY
Under the guidance of a signed up pharmacist carries out a range of technical and clerical tasks permitted by law, while preserving a beneficial picture of the drug store within the healthcare facility and in the neighborhood.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answers phones for the drug store department and directs contacts us to suitable workers
- Maintains understanding of the Hospital Credit and Collection Policy and other associated policies
- Prepackages, prepares, labels and give out prescriptions after they are inspected by a signed up pharmacist
- Maintains sales register, charge card devices and reporting for money deals
- Prepares everyday deposits for the cashier’s workplace
- Bills and credits client medications
- Stocks stock in Pharmacy
- Routinely checks and eliminates out-of-date and ended medications
- Delivers medications to client care and supplementary locations and gets brand-new orders as set up
- Files prescriptions and reports
- Maintains the drug store in a tidy and orderly style
- Enters outpatient prescriptions
- Obtains and records client drug histories
- Triages orders, figures out top priorities, procedures orders and alerts the pharmacist as suitable
- Performs numerous estimations to identify the proper dosage utilizing weight
- Identifies the proper item to procedure based upon the prescription order
- Triages insurance coverage rejections and starts prior permission declares as required
- Uses suitable pharmaceutical-medical terms, abbreviations and signs
- Maintains a working understanding of basic chemical and physical homes of drugs
- Compounding medications based on Minnesota Board of Pharmacy guidelines and policies
- Responsible for safe and mindful handling of chemotherapeutic medications
- Assist with other responsibilities as designated however just after proper training
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education/ Work Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate of a certified Pharmacy Technician Program or a 240 hour company based Technician training Program or 1,000 hours of Pharmacy experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Computer abilities
- Knowledge of Pharmacy computer system systems.
- Insurance and Billing Experience
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- Ability to interact with other workers and public
- Possess strong social abilities; be a group gamer, and promote favorable group environment
- Excellent customer support abilities
- Demonstrate excellent choice making abilities, issue resolving methods, and have the capability to focus on numerous jobs
- Ability to utilize a computer system and involved programs
- Ability to comprehend oral and written directions
- Ability to find out and use drug store treatments and analyze prescriptions
- Ability to use standard mathematics abilities
- Some ability in record keeping
- Ability to utilize computer system efficiently
License/Certifications:
- Current Pharmacy Technician Registration with MN State Board
- PTCB or ExCPT drug store tech accreditation within 1 year of date of hire, spent for by worker.
OR
- Current Intern License with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy
