Pharmacy Tech – Baptist Health Oncology/Hematology Department (Eastpoint Location)

Job Summary:
Assists pharmacist in filling and preparation of medication orders. Carries out dangerous and non-hazardous IV intensifying with a high degree of precision. Functions as buying representative for medications and products. Accountable for acquisition, preparation, and disposal of high threat dangerous products. Accountable for compliance with EPA guidelines referring to dealing with, storage, and disposal of harmful products.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Substances all non-hazardous IV preparations in accordance with USP

3. Prepares other medications as required for administration in the workplace setting.
4. Profiles prescriptions into Electronic Medical Record.
5. Restocks Automated Dispensing Cabinets and keeps an eye on stock of medications and associated materials.
6. Orders drug store stock and associated materials and keeps suitable stock levels.
7. Orders products for other departments.
8. Stocks and keeps an eye on all drug samples.
9. Confirms the invoice and rates of all orders got.
10. Carries out all designated quality assurance examine all kept and prepared medications.
11. Prepares reports on drug use, waste, and other reports as asked for.
12. Restocks infusion response sets with medications and/or materials as required.
13. Inspects/tests eye wash station weekly.
14. Maintains basic tidiness of workspace.
15. Disposes of chemotherapy waste according to developed EPA standards. Checks Hazardous Waste storage structure weekly.
16. Maintains drug referrals.
17. Carries out other tasks as appointed by Pharmacy Supervisor or Pharmacist.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:
- High school diploma or comparable needed.
- Minimum of 3 years experience as Pharmacy Technician chosen.
- Previous sterilized intensifying experience chosen.
- Must be experienced of medications (dose kinds, brand name and generic names).
- National Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board needed.
- Kentucky Board of Pharmacy registration certificate for Pharmacy Technician needed.
