The Drug Store Service Technician 1, under the guidance and instructions of a Pharmacist, offers drug store services, handles stock, and provides pharmaceutical care as designated and in accordance with Texas State Board of Drug Store (TSBP) policies.
NECESSARY FUNCTIONS OF THE FUNCTION *
Carries out minimal drug store services and tasks related to the equipping, preparation, labeling, giving and shipment of medications.
Assists clients and medical personnel with nonjudgmental concerns under the direct guidance of a pharmacist preceptor.
Responses inbound telephone call and reacts to the requirements of the caller and/or directs them to the suitable individual for service.
Interacts immediately with all suitable staff member when stock levels are low and helps with drug buying and stock control in a suitable way (ex. purchasing and getting of medications and materials).
Carries out designated jobs concerning drug store quality assurance, management of drug store records, stock control and preparation of order for drugs.
Gets in medication orders from medical professionals’ order sheets/prescriptions and fills according to label, making sure that the proper item is given which the dose kind and charge amount remain in accordance with formulary; gets in proper billing information and is accountable for medication charges and credits.
Fixes disparities, troubleshoots and runs reports from the automated giving maker (ADM)
Cleans and assists preserve devices and workspace; decontaminates glass wares according to recognized treatments.
