About Us:
Life Tree Pharmacy is a for profit subsidiary of Merakey and works with a wide range of facilities and programs to support individuals in the Behavioral Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disability communities.
About the position:
Performs and/or oversees the completion of all routine and tasks, including but not limited to: Expedites prescription processing by performing all duties necessary and allowable, by policy or law.
- Receives new and refilled prescriptions from customers for filling .
- Verifies name and address (if applicable) of the person the new prescription is to be filled for, as well as, legibility of the prescriber’s name.
- Obtains from the prescription files those prescriptions, which have been requested to be refilled.
- Efficiently utilizes Docutrack to secure and associate prescriptions with appropriate patient.
- Prepares labels for refill prescriptions.
- Bills and adjudicates claims to third party insurance plans.
- Communicates to facility and staff when an insurance rejects a submitted claim.
- Ensures necessary communications are provided to the customer, such as instructions, side effects order changes and medication descriptions.
- Arranges customer consultations with Pharmacist, when requested.
- Answers incoming calls, directs to Pharmacist, when appropriate, such as new prescriptions, questions about medication, judgmental decision, etc.
- Completes and processes third-party documents.
- Files patient profiles.
- Processes incoming orders to determine that items ordered were shipped and that items shipped are the same as items invoiced to the Pharmacy.
Requirements
- Louisiana Pharmacy Technician license required
- Framework LTC software/ Docutrack Software experience a plus
- Must be able to work a flexible shift including evenings and weekends
- Attention to detail and be able to work under deadlines
- Strong organization skills including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Basic computer skills preferred; experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to make independent decisions.
- Ability to effectively and harmoniously interact with facility, management and other employees at all levels; promotes teamwork and professionalism
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance
- Must be dependable and able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be at least 18 years of age
