The Drug Store Service Technician 1 PRN, under the guidance and instructions of a Pharmacist, offers drug store services, handles stock, and provides pharmaceutical care as designated and in accordance with Texas State Board of Drug Store (TSBP) guidelines.
VITAL FUNCTIONS OF THE FUNCTION *
Carries out minimal drug store services and responsibilities related to the equipping, preparation, labeling, giving and shipment of medications.
Assists clients and medical personnel with nonjudgmental concerns under the direct guidance of a pharmacist preceptor.
Responses inbound telephone call and reacts to the requirements of the caller and/or directs them to the suitable individual for service.
Interacts quickly with all proper employee when stock levels are low and helps with drug getting and stock control in a suitable way (ex. purchasing and getting of medications and materials).
Carries out designated jobs concerning drug store quality assurance, management of drug store records, stock control and preparation of order for drugs.
Goes into medication orders from medical professionals’ order sheets/prescriptions and fills according to label, guaranteeing that the right item is given which the dose type and charge amount remain in accordance with formulary; goes into proper billing information and is accountable for medication charges and credits.
Fixes inconsistencies, troubleshoots and runs reports from the automated giving device (ADM)
Cleans and assists preserve devices and workspace; sanitizes glass wares according to recognized treatments.
