The Drug Store Service Technician 1, under the guidance and instructions of a Pharmacist, offers drug store services, handles stock, and provides pharmaceutical care as appointed and in accordance with Texas State Board of Drug Store (TSBP) guidelines.
NECESSARY FUNCTIONS OF THE FUNCTION *
Carries out restricted drug store services and responsibilities related to the equipping, preparation, labeling, giving and shipment of medications.
Assists clients and medical personnel with nonjudgmental concerns under the direct guidance of a pharmacist preceptor.
Responses inbound call and reacts to the requirements of the caller and/or directs them to the suitable individual for service.
Interacts immediately with all proper employee when stock levels are low and helps with drug buying and stock control in a suitable way (ex. purchasing and getting of medications and products).
Carries out designated jobs concerning drug store quality assurance, management of drug store records, stock control and preparation of order for drugs.
Goes into medication orders from physicians’ order sheets/prescriptions and fills according to label, guaranteeing that the right item is given which the dose kind and charge amount remain in accordance with formulary; gets in appropriate billing information and is accountable for medication charges and credits.
Fixes inconsistencies, troubleshoots and runs reports from the automated giving maker (ADM)
Cleans and assists keep devices and workspace; decontaminates glasses according to recognized treatments.
