The Drug Store Service Technician 1, under the guidance and instructions of a Pharmacist, offers drug store services, handles stock, and provides pharmaceutical care as designated and in accordance with Texas State Board of Drug Store (TSBP) policies.
NECESSARY FUNCTIONS OF THE FUNCTION *
Carries out minimal drug store services and tasks related to the equipping, preparation, labeling, giving and shipment of medications.
Assists clients and medical personnel with nonjudgmental concerns under the direct guidance of a pharmacist preceptor.
Responses inbound call and reacts to the requirements of the caller and/or directs them to the proper individual for service.
Interacts immediately with all proper employee when stock levels are low and helps with drug buying and stock control in a proper way (ex. purchasing and getting of medications and products).
Carries out designated jobs relating to drug store quality assurance, management of drug store records, stock control and preparation of order for drugs.
Goes into medication orders from medical professionals’ order sheets/prescriptions and fills according to label, making sure that the proper item is given which the dose type and charge amount remain in accordance with formulary; goes into appropriate billing information and is accountable for medication charges and credits.
Deals with disparities, troubleshoots and runs reports from the automated giving device (ADM)
Cleans and assists preserve devices and workspace; sanitizes glasses according to recognized treatments.
