Part-time Drug Store Tech

The Drug store Specialist 1, under the guidance and instructions of a Pharmacist, supplies drug store services, handles stock, and provides pharmaceutical care as appointed and in accordance with Texas State Board of Drug Store (TSBP) guidelines.

NECESSARY FUNCTIONS OF THE FUNCTION

Carries out minimal drug store services and responsibilities connected with the equipping, preparation, labeling, giving and shipment of medications.

Assists clients and medical personnel with nonjudgmental concerns under the direct guidance of a pharmacist preceptor.

Responses inbound call and reacts to the requirements of the caller and/or directs them to the suitable individual for service.

Interacts immediately with all suitable employee when stock levels are low and helps with drug acquiring and stock control in a proper way (ex. buying and getting of medications and materials).

Carries out designated jobs relating to drug store quality assurance, management of drug store records, stock control and preparation of order for drugs.

Gets in medication orders from medical professionals’ order sheets/prescriptions and fills according to label, making sure that the right item is given which the dose kind and charge amount remain in accordance with formulary; gets in proper billing information and is accountable for medication charges and credits.

Solves inconsistencies, troubleshoots and runs reports from the automated giving device (ADM)

Cleans and assists keep devices and workspace; sanitizes glasses according to recognized treatments.

CERTIFICATIONS

– EDUCATION – H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent

Drug Store Specialist (PHT), Drug Store Intern (RPH-INT): Need to have among the following provided by the TX Board of Drug Store:

Drug Store Tech (PHT) license

Drug Store Tech (PHT) intern license.
