Lead Pharmacy Technicians / Buyer will perform procurement activities including order placement, product sourcing, and vendor interaction. Maintains inventory at appropriate levels and verifies contract pricing agreements, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

Under general direction of the Pharmacy Director, the Lead Pharmacy Buyer will perform procurement activities including order placement, product sourcing, and vendor interaction. Maintains inventory at appropriate levels and verifies contract pricing agreements, and compliance. Performs daily monitoring of budget, and invoices to assure proper billing and credits.

Maintains DEA and state board records of pharmacy licensure for department. Resource person for all automated medication dispensing machines (AMDM’s) in hospital. Analyzes appropriate system reports of AMDM’s daily. Monitors and controls drug inventory in AMDM’s. Assists the Director of Pharmacy with evaluating the technician workflow and work with the technician team to engage LEAN principles and projects to eliminate waste and improve technician workflow processes. Support initiatives of the hospital and department among the pharmacy and customer departments including Nursing, physicians, RT, Radiology, and Pharmacy staff.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate required
  • Missouri State Pharmacy Technician certification preferred.
  • One year work experience as a technician or graduation from a technician certification program.

Lee’s Summit Medical Center serves Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and surrounding areas. The 80 -bed advanced technology facility is both a Joint Commission Chest Pain Certified Hospital and a Joint Commission Certified Primary Stroke Center. LSMC is an affiliate of HCA Healthcare.
