Pharmacy Technicians assist licensed pharmacists with the preparation and distribution of prescription medications. In a hospital setting, the pharmacy technician helps fill orders for patients and ensures that they are delivered to the right units. They also help the pharmacist ensure that the pharmacy has the right amount of stock to meet patient needs.

The LSMC Pharmacy Department serves the needs of the entire 80 bed hospital

Responsibilities:

To assist the Pharmacist with the provision, preparation, proper storage, accountability, and delivery of pharmaceuticals.

Communicate with and support the Care Team with Medication Therapy Management processes.

Support student rotations to provide students with a meaningful understanding of the pharmacy technician role at LSMC.

Maintain skills technical pharmacy skills and compliance of pharmacy procedures and policies to deliver timely and high quality Medication Therapy Management product at LSMC.

Qualifications

Current Senior level High School student or High School Graduate required that will be pursuing a medical career after secondary education.

Must have applied for or have Missouri State Pharmacy Technician or Intern registration upon hire.

No experience required: Prefer individuals that are pursuing a healthcare career.

Lee’s Summit Medical Center serves Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and surrounding areas. The 80 -bed advanced technology facility is both a Joint Commission Chest Pain Certified Hospital and a Joint Commission Certified Primary Stroke Center. LSMC is an affiliate of HCA Healthcare.
