As of Jan. 1, our Pharmacy Technicians, who play an important role in supporting safe medication distribution throughout the health system, completed a lengthy bridging journey that helped them realize regulated status with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
Recognizing their value within the medication management system, pharmacy regulatory authorities have created a framework that allows the privilege of self-regulation with the ability to practice independently, outside of delegation from pharmacists.
