Blue Jays LHP Matz put on COVID-related IL

BOSTON– Steven Matz was put on the COVID-related hurt list by the Toronto Blue Jays prior to Sunday’s video game versus Boston, one day after the left-hander beat the Red Sox.

Matz (7-3) enabled one run and 4 hits in 5 2/3 innings Saturday.

” He’s still going through extra screening,” supervisor Charlie Montoyo stated. “The men that were around him that are immunized returned unfavorable, which’s great news.”

Right-hander Jeremy Beasley was remembered from Triple-A Buffalo, a day after he was optioned.
