Drug Store Tech Medical Infusion

The Drug store Specialist 1, under the guidance and instructions of a Pharmacist, supplies drug store services, handles stock, and provides pharmaceutical care as appointed and in accordance with Texas State Board of Drug Store (TSBP) guidelines.

VITAL FUNCTIONS OF THE FUNCTION

Carries out restricted drug store services and responsibilities related to the equipping, preparation, labeling, giving and shipment of medications.

Assists clients and medical personnel with nonjudgmental concerns under the direct guidance of a pharmacist preceptor.

Responses inbound telephone call and reacts to the requirements of the caller and/or directs them to the suitable individual for service.

Interacts without delay with all proper staff member when stock levels are low and helps with drug buying and stock control in a suitable way (ex. buying and getting of medications and materials).

Carries out designated jobs relating to drug store quality assurance, management of drug store records, stock control and preparation of order for drugs.

Goes into medication orders from medical professionals’ order sheets/prescriptions and fills according to label, guaranteeing that the right item is given which the dose kind and charge amount remain in accordance with formulary; goes into proper billing information and is accountable for medication charges and credits.
