The Drug store Tech in this position will help in preparing, product packaging, providing, and charging of medications, under the guidance of a certified pharmacist; consists of the production of IVs.

Obligations

The Drug store Tech’s duties consist of the following activities:

  • Properly fill medication orders with appropriate strength, dose type, and amount in a prompt way,
  • Guarantee all medications are inspected by a pharmacist prior to giving,
  • Respond properly to ask for STAT orders, regular orders, department demands, and ADC stock out publications,
  • Refill emergency situation crash carts, boxes, and sets properly and prompt,
  • Precisely stock ADCs in a prompt way,
  • Prepackage and label oral medications and extemporaneous preparations,
  • Prepare IV sterilized admixture services and IV items properly constant with IV policies and treatments (USP797 and USP800),
  • Restock medications in IV space and comply with IV cleansing schedule

Certifications

Education

Needed: High School Graduate or comparable

Experience

Preferred: 2 years healthcare facility experience as Drug store Tech

Accreditations

Needed: Registered Drug store Specialist license or Drug store Service technician accreditation, as needed by State law. Certified training in sterilized items preparation
