Responsibilities
A day in the life of a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Hackensack Meridian Health consists of:
- Prepares designated IV additive preparations utilizing proper aseptic method under the guidance of a signed up pharmacist.
- Prepares medication trays.
- Delivers or tubes (pneumatic tube system) medication to client care locations in accordance with department policies.
- Delivers medication carts to client care locations.
- Prepares medication orders under the oversight of a signed up pharmacist.
- Assists the pharmacist in the upkeep of sufficient drug materials in filling locations and provides notice relating to the requirement to reorder products.
- Assures that the filling locations kept in a cool and organized way.
- Refers ask for drug info to a signed up pharmacist.
- Assists the pharmacist in preserving the security of drug products.
- Provides proper documents any place and whenever needed.
- Performs jobs connected with automatic devices and keeps suitable records as designated.
- Adheres to the requirements determined in the Medical Center’s Organizational Competencies.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Hospital experience with understanding of system dosage dispensing and IV admixtures
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Pharmacy Technician License.
- Valid Certification from PTCB or equivalent.
