Ojai Valley Community Hospital, an affiliate of Community Memorial Hospital is a 25-bed general acute care facility designated as a Critical Access Hospital with a distinct part 66 bed skilled nursing facility. OVCH provides inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing services for mostly primary and secondary care needs. In addition, we operate a 24-hour standby emergency department.

Pharmacy Tech II – Per Diem Position Available
Responsibilities
Position Overview:
The Pharmacy Tech II assists the pharmacy professional staff by preparing or compounding medications for use by customers; acts as a resource for expertise in specific departmental areas, requires minimal instruction and supervision to complete tasks.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Outpatient prescription processing to include; processing of paperwork, billing, communications with medical offices, order entry, and filling prescriptions.
- Fills 24 hour patient cassettes with medication, performs debit/credit functions and returns all unused drugs to stock.
- Keeps assigned area of work stocked, orderly and free from outdates. Receives and checks in the morning drug orders.
- Prepares unit dose pre-packs in both liquid and solid forms.
- Logs and delivers stock narcotics to floor.
- Compounds adult and neonatal IVs.
- Refill Pyxis machines.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Certificate from college or technical school
- Three (3) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid CA Pharmacy Technician registration
Preferred:
- Pharmacy Technician Board Certified
