IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
VITAL FUNCTIONS
Performs the duties of a lead pharmacy professional; mastery of all drug store technicain duties and cross training brand-new hires.
Keeps a specialized location of obligation while aiding in the shipment of care in locations such as Buying, Receiving, Auditing, Sterile and nonsterile compounding, Billing, Informatics, Medication Reconciliation, Licensing, Contracting, and Marketing.

Also supports BSWQA Comprehensive Care Management Group (CCM group- Registered Nurses, Social Employees, Neighborhood Health Employees, and Health Care Coordinators) by fielding medication questions, escalating all medical questions to the pharmacists, participating in CCM huddles and offering medication education subjects for presentation by pharmacists or residents.
Carries out sophisticated stock management (i.e. ADM optimization, ADM construct and restore).
Takes part in education for pharmacy residents/students.
Finishes prior authorizations (PA) for HTPN clinics (e.g. Liver disease C medications, rifaximin, and PSCK9 inhibitors).
Finishes renewal PAs for Specialized Pharmacy Satisfaction Service (SPFS) centers, advantages confirmations, acquiring monetary assistance through manufacturer coupons, structures and client assistance programs, and medication adherence calls.
Assists in coordination and development of medication related focus step outreach workflows and acts as contracted payers’ contact individual with regard to focus measures. Reports outreach results back to payers and department leaders.

KEY SUCCESS ELEMENTS
Specialist understanding of Drug store Care techniques, terms, pharmaceutical computations, drug use and aseptic methods, standards, and equipment.

Drug Store Technician (PHT): Should have a Drug store Tech license through TX Board of Pharmacy.
