As an employee of Sterling Long-Term Care Pharmacy, you can expect to be treated with care and respect.*Looking for a Full-time, 40 hours/week candidate*Qualifications:Required: High School graduate or equivalentRegistered with the Board of PharmacyFrameworks Software experience preferredJob Description: The Sterling Long-Term Care Pharmacy Technician – Data Tech is responsible for receiving and processing prescription drug orders.Core Competencies and Responsibilities:Receive new prescriptions physically or electronically from homes and patientsFollow the data entry process from gathering patient information to the prescription being filledAccept prescription refill authorizations via the telephone or fax from prescriberAnswer the telephone in a timely manner (within 3 rings)Adhere to policies and procedures related to pharmacy operationsStay well-informed of and compliant with all statutes, rules and regulations related to pharmacy practice, both State and FederalMonitor reimbursement of prescriptions to achieve optimal gross profit marginsRepresent Sterling Long-Term Care Pharmacy as a pharmacy employee to the general publicProcess prescriptions on the computer accuratelyCollect appropriate information for billing of Medicaid and Medicare for DME and supplies and reconcile claims to ensure adequate paymentCommunicate with pharmacy manager on a regular basisProvide the best possible service to their patientsParticipate in continuous quality improvement and quality assurance programs in pharmaciesWork toward achieving certified pharmacy technician statusPerforms any other duties as assignedPerformance Requirements:Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingExcellent organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independently and as a teamAbility to operate a computerPhysical Requirements and Work Demands:Requires the ability to work up to 40 hours per week and occasionally moreAbility to maintain a flexible schedule including early morning, evening and weekend hoursIn a typical 8-hour day, the candidate can lift of carry items up to approximately 25 pounds and stand approximately 8 hoursIn a typical day, the candidate can spend 2-4 hours on the telephoneWorking Environment:Normal pharmacy work environmentIND1
