TASK SUMMARY The Drug Store Service technician 1, under the guidance and instructions of a Pharmacist, offers drug store services, handles stock, and provides pharmaceutical care as designated and in accordance with Texas State Board of Drug Store (TSBP) guidelines. VITAL FUNCTIONS OF THE FUNCTION Carries out restricted drug store services and responsibilities related to the equipping, preparation, labeling, giving and shipment of medications. Assists clients and medical personnel with nonjudgmental concerns under the direct guidance of a pharmacist preceptor. Responses inbound telephone call and reacts to the requirements of the caller and/or directs them to the proper individual for service. Interacts quickly with all proper employee when stock levels are low and helps with drug buying and stock control in a proper way (ex. purchasing and getting of medications and materials). Carries out designated jobs concerning drug store quality assurance, management of drug store records, stock control and preparation of order for drugs. Goes into medication orders from medical professionals’ order sheets/prescriptions and fills according to label, making sure that the right item is given which the dose kind and charge amount remain in accordance with formulary; gets in right billing information and is accountable for medication charges and credits. Solves inconsistencies, troubleshoots and runs reports from the automated giving device (ADM) Cleans up and assists preserve devices and workspace; disinfects glass wares according to recognized treatments. Understanding of treatments and requirements for the labeling and dispensing of prescription medications. Should have the ability to check out, compose and follow guidelines and flowchart procedures. Capability to sort, check, count, and validate numbers. Capability to follow recognized security, infection control, ecological and seclusion practices and treatments at all times. Social abilities needed to connect efficiently with clients and personnel.
