TASK SUMMARY The Drug Store Professional 1, under the guidance and instructions of a Pharmacist, supplies drug store services, handles stock, and provides pharmaceutical care as appointed and in accordance with Texas State Board of Drug Store (TSBP) guidelines. VITAL FUNCTIONS OF THE FUNCTION Carries out restricted drug store services and tasks related to the equipping, preparation, labeling, giving and shipment of medications. Assists clients and medical personnel with nonjudgmental concerns under the direct guidance of a pharmacist preceptor. Responses inbound telephone call and reacts to the requirements of the caller and/or directs them to the proper individual for service. Interacts quickly with all proper staff member when stock levels are low and helps with drug getting and stock control in a suitable way (ex. purchasing and getting of medications and materials). Carries out designated jobs relating to drug store quality assurance, management of drug store records, stock control and preparation of order for drugs. Gets in medication orders from medical professionals’ order sheets/prescriptions and fills according to label, making sure that the appropriate item is given which the dose kind and charge amount remain in accordance with formulary; gets in right billing information and is accountable for medication charges and credits. Fixes inconsistencies, troubleshoots and runs reports from the automated giving device (ADM) Cleans up and assists keep devices and workspace; sanitizes glasses according to recognized treatments. Understanding of treatments and requirements for the labeling and dispensing of prescription medications.
