The Drug store Service technician 1, under the guidance and instructions of a Pharmacist, supplies drug store services, handles stock, and provides pharmaceutical care as appointed and in accordance with Texas State Board of Drug Store (TSBP) policies.
VITAL FUNCTIONS OF THE FUNCTION
Carries out minimal drug store services and tasks related to the equipping, preparation, labeling, giving and shipment of medications.
Assists clients and medical personnel with nonjudgmental concerns under the direct guidance of a pharmacist preceptor.
Responses inbound call and reacts to the requirements of the caller and/or directs them to the proper individual for service.
Interacts quickly with all proper employee when stock levels are low and helps with drug buying and stock control in a proper way (ex. buying and getting of medications and materials).
Carries out designated jobs relating to drug store quality assurance, management of drug store records, stock control and preparation of order for drugs.
Gets in medication orders from physicians’ order sheets/prescriptions and fills according to label, guaranteeing that the appropriate item is given which the dose kind and charge amount remain in accordance with formulary; goes into proper billing information and is accountable for medication charges and credits.
Fixes inconsistencies, troubleshoots and runs reports from the automated giving device (ADM)
Cleans and assists keep devices and workspace; disinfects glass wares according to recognized treatments.
