How do I become a Pharmacy Tech in California?
Requirements
1. Graduate from High School
2. Obtain Approved Training or National Certification
3. Apply to theCalifornia Board of Pharmacy for a license -www.pharmacy.ca.gov
Approved Training
Can include any of the following;
– Associate Degree in Pharmacy Technology, or
– Minimum 240 hours of completed coursework, or
– Graduated from a program accredited by the ASHP or the ACPE
National Certification
– National Certification is not essential in California
– If you already have National Certification then you do not need to complete any further training in order to obtain your license
– National Certification can be obtained by sitting either the PTCB or ExCPT exam

– $42,610 (May 2018)
