Overview
Function Purpose
Under the direct guidance of staff pharmacists, according to standard procedures, prepares medication orders, assists in giving and transporting medications, carries out sterilized and/or non-sterile compounding, communicates with different automated systems and keeps proper records.
Duties Keeps quality control standards and upkeep of needed documents. Consists of keeping regulative cleanliness compliance.
- Helps in the preparation of medication orders that includes management of workflow, and standard preparation and dispensing, including non-sterile compounding.
- Use of automated/electronic systems to manage item preparation, stock management, patient records, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintenance of inventory which includes inventory storage, ordering, turning, beyond use dating, and cleanliness.
- Become proficient in compounding sterilized preparations, or other innovative ability.
- BJC has identified this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a continuous state of alertness and in a safe manner is a vital function of this job.
