Task Summary/Purpose: Working under the direct guidance of the pharmacist( s), the drug store specialist helps in all drug store operations’ functions associated to: (1) preparation & circulation of all dosages of medication; (2) upkeep of drug stocks (e.g., re-stocking automated giving cabinets throughout the health center, drug packaging/re-packaging, extemporaneous compounding, code cart re-stock, and so on); and, (3) conclusion of clients’ records relating to drug treatment (aminoglycoside procedure orders, drug charges & credits and so on)
Minimum Training and Education: High School Diploma needed; college-level courses preferable however not needed; effective conclusion of a qualified drug store specialist training program needed
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Pharmacy Technician Registration in SC
