The Pharmacy Distribution Automation Technician will help pharmacists in the acquisition, preparation, and circulation of medications in dealing with the clients under the University Hospital system of care. The responsibilities might consist of however are not restricted to the following obligations: product packaging and labeling of medications, operation of drug store details systems, shipment of medications through a shipment cart to client care locations consisting of operation of the PYXIS automation, and basic assistance to pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to all client populations (i.e., neonate, baby, kid, adult, and geriatric). Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Graduate of ASHP certified program or State certified Pharmacy Technology School chosen.

Licensure/Certification:

Pharmacy Technician Certification as acknowledged by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and State of Georgia Pharmacy Technician Registration or licensure in the state of Georgia as a Pharmacy Intern.

Experience:

One (1) year experience of healthcare facility specialist work is needed to consist of broad experience in system dosage drug circulation and IV admixtures. Graduate of ASHP recognized program or State certified Pharmacy Technology School might be alternatived to one (1) year work experience.

Knowledge, abilities, capabilities:

Reading understanding and visual abilities should suffice to see and translate drug orders, reports or other written types of interaction.

Individual need to have a standard understanding of numerous drug items, pharmaceutical laws, and drug circulation.

Must have a viewpoint of healthcare service constant with that of the objective of University Hospital.

Physical Demands:

Ability to move throughout the healthcare facility to achieve responsibilities. Visual capability to see & check out records, reports, or computer system terminals.
