TASK SUMMARY The Drug Store Specialist 1, under the guidance and instructions of a Pharmacist, supplies drug store services, handles stock, and provides pharmaceutical care as designated and in accordance with Texas State Board of Drug Store (TSBP) guidelines. NECESSARY FUNCTIONS OF THE FUNCTION Carries out restricted drug store services and tasks related to the equipping, preparation, labeling, giving and shipment of medications. Assists clients and medical personnel with nonjudgmental concerns under the direct guidance of a pharmacist preceptor. Responses inbound telephone call and reacts to the requirements of the caller and/or directs them to the proper individual for service. Interacts immediately with all suitable employee when stock levels are low and helps with drug acquiring and stock control in a proper way (ex. buying and getting of medications and products). Carries out designated jobs concerning drug store quality assurance, management of drug store records, stock control and preparation of order for drugs. Goes into medication orders from medical professionals’ order sheets/prescriptions and fills according to label, guaranteeing that the appropriate item is given which the dose kind and charge amount remain in accordance with formulary; goes into proper billing information and is accountable for medication charges and credits. Fixes disparities, troubleshoots and runs reports from the automated giving device (ADM) Cleans up and assists keep devices and workspace; disinfects glass wares according to recognized treatments.
