The Drug store Professional 1, under the guidance and instructions of a Pharmacist, supplies drug store services, handles stock, and provides pharmaceutical care as appointed and in accordance with Texas State Board of Drug Store (TSBP) policies.
IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS OF THE FUNCTION
Carries out minimal drug store services and responsibilities related to the equipping, preparation, labeling, giving and shipment of medications.
Assists clients and medical personnel with nonjudgmental concerns under the direct guidance of a pharmacist preceptor.
Responses inbound call and reacts to the requirements of the caller and/or directs them to the suitable individual for service.
Interacts quickly with all proper employee when stock levels are low and helps with drug acquiring and stock control in a suitable way (ex. purchasing and getting of medications and products).
Carries out designated jobs relating to drug store quality assurance, management of drug store records, stock control and preparation of order for drugs.
Gets in medication orders from medical professionals’ order sheets/prescriptions and fills according to label, making sure that the proper item is given which the dose type and charge amount remain in accordance with formulary; goes into appropriate billing information and is accountable for medication charges and credits.
Fixes inconsistencies, troubleshoots and runs reports from the automated giving device (ADM)
Cleans and assists preserve devices and workspace; decontaminates glass wares according to recognized treatments.
