The Pharmacy Technician 3 leads in the technical elements of the circulation of medications and associated functions, with the capability to carry out jobs separately and to keep a specific area of obligation while assisting in the delivery of pharmaceutical care.

NECESSARY FUNCTIONS OF THE FUNCTION

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs the responsibilities of a lead drug store technician; mastery of all drug store technicain duties and cross training new hires.

Maintains a customized location of responsibility while helping in the shipment of care in locations such as Buying, Receiving, Auditing, Sterile and nonsterile compounding, Billing, Informatics, Medication Reconciliation, Licensing, Contracting, and Marketing.

Supports BSWQA clinical pharmacists by performing medication reconciliation and formulary research study for pharmacists. Likewise supports BSWQA Comprehensive Care Management Group (CCM group- Registered Nurses, Social Employees, Community Health Workers, and Healthcare Coordinators) by fielding medication questions, escalating all medical questions to the pharmacists, participating in CCM huddles and supplying medication education topics for discussion by pharmacists or homeowners.

Performs advanced inventory management (i.e. ADM optimization, ADM construct and reconstruct).

Participates in education for drug store residents/students.

Completes previous authorizations (PA) for HTPN clinics (e.g. Hepatitis C medications, rifaximin, and PSCK9 inhibitors).

Completes renewal PAs for Specialty Drug Store Fulfillment Service (SPFS) centers, benefits confirmations, getting financial support through maker discount coupons, structures and patient help programs, and medication adherence calls.

Helps in coordination and development of medication related focus measure outreach workflows and serves as contracted payers’ contact individual with respect to focus measures. Reports outreach results back to payers and department leaders.

Boosts performance on Medication Adherence Measures through patient engagement and education.

Collaborates the Drug Recall Process. Assists with unique jobs (workflows, training, occasions).

Filters/distributes at-risk lists from payers to proper parties

SECRET SUCCESS ELEMENTS

Specialist understanding of Drug store Care methods, terminology, pharmaceutical estimations, substance abuse and aseptic techniques, standards, and devices.

Understanding of treatments and standards for the labeling and dispensing of prescription medications.

Needs to have the ability to check out, compose and follow directions and flowchart protocols.

Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.

Capability to follow recognized security, infection control, environmental and seclusion practices and treatments at all times.

Social abilities needed to connect effectively with patients and staff.

General computer skills, including however not limited to: utilizing needed software applications, information entry, details security, electronic medical documentation, hand held scanning and email

Must also Keep PTCB/NHA certification OR have associated skillset.
